Very annoying for a relatively new car to make this noise. Likely causing damage to engine.

Engine rods are knocking when cold or first starting up. Took it to the Dealership and they made up some story about how they all do that. He said that Nissan built the engines 'loose' so they will last longer. SO no help/no fix. Don't expect this engine to last long - new car engine rods knocking when it's cold is INSANE.

I purchased this car brand new on June 30th 2015. The next day I noticed that when I started the car up it would make a rattling noise. It felt as though a piece of metal or a loose bolt was in their shaking. I immediately made an appointment with the dealership service department and they kept the car overnight. All they did was run a diagnostic test even though I told them that it was a common problem with this car and that many owners were reporting it as a loose heat shield. The service guy said the car was perfectly fine.
It is now September 2015 and the problem is still ongoing. Out family have bought 3 new cars this past year and none of them make this type of noise during start up so it cant be a common startup noise. My neighbor has this exact car and his does not make this kind of noise. I have complained to corporate with no response. I'm just scared of more damage happening to the car the more I start it.

Ok checked out the forum and did not get the exact answer I was looking for. So here goes. I have a 2007 Versa sl 4dr sedan autotrans w/7500k miles purchased Sept 07. My wife and I bought 2 indentical Versa's at the same time. Her Versa has had none of the problems I have had with mine. Right from the begining I had a starting problem. The ingniton is locked and wont turn. Even the hard key wont turn when inserted. One, I have kept my cell phone and ikey seperate(never in same pocket etc.). Two, I have had my battery replaced in Ikey. Three, Steering wheel is not jammed in locked position(I have jiggled and turned steering wheel per manual suggestions) To get it to start I have to do things at once. I have to jiggle/rattle the stick shift AND using the ikey lock and unlock the car. Neither one of these things work by themselves. TRUST ME Now sometime it take 10 15 seconds, sometime 5 10 minutes.I read one thread that said this normal and it just fact you have to live with.I DONT THINK SO.

Dealer said to have it towed down to him when it happens. Of course when I did TWICE it worked fine when they tried to start it. ALSO my car beebs at me ALOT. No not the headlight beeb that one is constant beeb. Never left my ikey in ingnition or in carI get two kinds of beebs. One, when I lock my car using the button on my rest arm of my door and after closing my door the doors unlock and I hear rapid (6 or7) beeps. Two, closing my door and three slow beeps.I have jiggle/rattled the ingnition swith, steering wheel, and any other thing I can think of and STILL beeps Beeps and starting problem does not seem to coincide, more beeps(5/10 times a week) than starting problems(2/3 times a week) My wifes car has never beeped at her. Dealer in nice about it but he says he cant fix what he cant see/hear is broken. Any Ideas?
